How Nipsey Hussle influenced the culture of hip-hop, what I gathered from my experience as a fan, as well as what this new moon means for his legacy and to us individually moving past our personal obstacles.

The world has been a little heavier since the loss of this Iconic artist and community leader. In my opinion what Nipsey meant for the culture was growth, motivation, inspiration, and hope. Allow me to elaborate on each individual meaning:

Growth- For many of us we grew up in places that don't have picket fences, riddled with drug activity, gang culture, our fathers, uncles and brothers going to prison, and friends not making it past their teenage years. He showed his growth through his artistry and efforts by taking the direction of leadership, entrepreneurship and family life as opposed to the lifestyle he could have chose.

Motivation- Nipsey's aim was to reach the "unreachable" the people that society usually writes off and most people just hope to escape. He was actively trying to demonstrate that we don't have to leave our communities in order to better them. That we could build from right where we reside and make an impact and difference in the lives of others.

Inspiration- Inspired by other great black men with his business and community building, he became a staple of inspiration for many other young black men especially gang members. His impact was immense within "ghetto" culture. He showcased the true meaning of what a gang was which is a community organized group meant to educate and empower. Nipsey wanted to unify gangs and end gang violence by meeting with the L.A.P.D. to improve communication and understanding, and was set to have the meeting the following date of his murder. C.R.I.P. ( Community, Revolution, In, Progress) (B.L.O.O.D.- Brothers, Leading, Others, Outta, Darkness)

Hope- Seeing is believing if I had a dollar for every conversation I have tried to have with people about how to truly effect our neighborhoods, build, and grow I'd be rich. But because I don't drive a nice car, am not socially famous, or have the look of what most would consider successful then my words usually fall on deaf ears. With Nipsey people saw what they could come from, what they could do, and how it can effect people on a large scale.

When I first heard his music it was 2013 when the Crenshaw mixtape dropped and I was like man this album jams so hard. I didn't take it out of my CD player for months, it was my non-stop traveling music. I started going back and listening to his older music for reference, and I realized that he had something special. The fact that his label was named All Money In instantly made me think about group economics which he covered in much of his music. By listening to his interviews I began to deeply appreciate his mind set, it's not often you see someone so young and adamant about independent business with neighborhood values in mind. When I saw his public relationship with Lauren London, whose career I have also watched blossom from afar, I instantly thought they made a beautiful couple. I could see that she filled a very important missing piece in his life, and ultimately complimented his "Hussle".

New Moon Energy In Aries:

I feel like this new moon energy is all about overcoming your greatest obstacles, and becoming the raging fire that Aries people represent. The God Aries was the God of war. Aries is called the Light of Life Itself. "It is the 'searchlight of the Logos, seeking that which can be used' for divine expression."

Aries represents the new beginnings, new cycles and emerging opportunity. It is a sign of commencement, a graduation of sorts or next level. Now is this time to set your intentions towards fighting for what you truly desire, not physically but spiritually. It is time to have faith and trust more than ever before in The Most High/Universe to be working out everything for our greatest good. While allowing us the opportunity to not fold but stand through set backs and adversity. Tomorrow's date also adds up to the number three which represents the trinity( father, son, holy spirit or man, woman, child or mind, body, soul). Nipsey was also 33 when he passed and was a rolling 60 (2 threes). Three represents the ascended masters as well as manifestation, as they are assisting us to find peace, clarity and love within. One is a also reoccurring associated with this that I will break down at a later time. If your asking what this has to do with Nipsey Hussle, allow me to break it down even further:

Nipsey represents a time that was once filled with revolutionary spirit, we have now reached that time again where our generation is attempting to make strides in bridging the mental gaps, and daring to challenge ideals unlike our parents. Its almost as if we are re-living an evolved version of the 60's through the 80's. ( Just look at the clothing/style of today) We have our new age leaders attempting create a unified mindset, and empower people to be less dependent on structures that have proven to be corrupt and one-sided. Within this we have also seen a large number of protest, outrage, and the "woke" movement rise to mainstream social structures. At the same time we have a drug epidemic going on in the form of new crack, pharmaceutical medicines that have become so highly addictive that many young people have died from an overdose. What I feel as the vibration of this energy is to take the lesson of our brothers life and allow his strides and love for his beliefs to push us to complete what those that came before us were not able to. Nipsey's death in Aries was the friction to start the fire within us all. Let's set our intentions high and keep community in mind as we meditate on this new moon energy. My prayers go up for the family of Nipsey Hussle and everyone that has been pained with his passing. Trust that he is resting in his full power.
