Good Vibes: Creating Intentional Spaces

Have you ever gone to someones home or office and wanted to immediately leave because of the way the energy felt in that space? Energy can definitely get trapped in your homes atmosphere. A persons intent in creating their space, and the type of events that take place in a home is all something that will make your home a comfortable place to be or a space that makes people feel un-welcomed. Find out what I'm doing to try to make my home more welcome, as I continue to create peaceful relaxing vibes in my atmosphere.

I spend most of my time at home so its important to me to be able to have a certain type of vibe in the house. For the longest I suffered with mild depression when my mother passed (she also passed away in our home) which made me procrastinate on getting rid of things. I also had a series of business related failures that had me trying to refocus on anything that wasn't related to what happened, then I had a miscarriage. All of these set backs had me in rest mode. Although I was still being somewhat creative with my homeschooling task and blogging I was spending more time on social media and less time getting organized at home. This just created a damper in my space after a while and it made it hard to really focus on getting new project done, knowing I had all of these things that I needed to take care of that I kept putting off. So I have finally decided enough is enough, I created this graphic to remind me of what I wanted my home to feel like. I want a space that feels like love and comfort and new memories. I want a space thats organized and comfortable to entertain small groups of people ( my garden is the next area we will be working on). I already grow vegetables and fruits but it's been an ongoing project to grow more things as well as create a peaceful oasis where I can meditate and relax. I'm just the type that likes to keep improving and I've learned that whats more important to me is to have a functional space but in a minimalistic bohemian style that reflects our families laid back personality. My favorite places to help with reorganizing have been Ikea and At Home. What I love about Ikea is that we have some furniture that we brought there about 2/3 years ago and I can go and grab replacement parts for free as well as buy add on items like shelves or baskets. This place has been my go to for organization because they specialize in creating intentional spaces for people with minimal space. Since I only have 1116 sqft. to work with clutter can't be an issue and deciding what to hold on too and what to get rid though hard at times must be figured out. We have also learned how to create storage in our nooks and crannies by adding built in shelves and an outdoor storage shed. Drop a comment if you want to see our finished results hope that this helps you to create intentional spaces of your own. In the meantime heres some of my inspirational photo's that are some of my organizational and garden aspirations.
